Ice Cream Waffle Sandwich
By David
Here's a culinary delight from the Ex, meaning it's horrible for you and horribly expensive. What I really wanted to find was this, but perhaps next year.
(More pics of what food I should have bought after the jump)

Cheese Crusted Steak
We were clean out of groceries today, but I was inspired by Chef Michael Smith again - A cheese crusted steak, made with beef, bread, butter, and cheese. Served with a wine and cream reduction sauce, so it's basically an all-meat dinner!
Bonus: Hopefully going see Michael Smith tomorrow a the Ex. The topic? The Art and Science of Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Chinese Egg Tarts
By David
The streetcar short-turned before reaching my house, so I sauntered over to a Chinatown East bakery for some delicious egg tarts.
(Also: Does anyone else find the term "streetcars" redundant? Wouldn't "roadtrain" be more appropriate?)

Fusilli Bolognese

Fusilli Bolognese
The photo is a bit off; I started eating before I snapped it. So happy for leftovers tomorrow! Yes that's right, even "leftovers" has an article on Wikipedia!
Meat Ship
By David
I made this in May, but it's awesome enough to warrant a post. Homemade model ship of meatloaf, with a sausage mast and sails of ham. Floating in a sea of garlic mashed potatoes.
I'd like to make another meat sculpture in the future - any suggestions?

Chinese Banquet
We trekked out to Miu Gardens at Pacific Mall's Market Village for an authentic Chinese feast. As guests sit around (multiple) enormous round tables, dishes of food are placed around a lazy-susan to be shared. I was too busy enjoying the food to take many pictures, but this shot represents only about half of what came out.
Food pictured includes:
- Steamed fish
- Mushroom soup
- Stir fried shrimp and veggies with almonds
- Cantonese lobster
- Mushrooms, gai lan, and rice noodles
- Barbeque chicken with shrimp chips
- Meat plate including barbeque pork, duck, jellyfish, and pork belly
- Mushrooms and baby bok choi stir fry
Food not pictured includes:
- Shrimp and crab balls
- Seafood stir fried rice
- Shanghai style noodles
- Sweet and sour pork
- (real) Tapioca
- Watermelon Jello
Farmers Market Fish

Dessert Naming Contest
By David
My wife Helmi decided to whip up a dessert on the fly, and it tasted amazing! The only problem is that we don't know what to name it, and need your help!
- Base: Baked oatmeal crumble
- Middle: Cinnamon cheesecake base with condensed milk
- Top: Roasted apple cinnamon resting on maple syrup infused cream, then drizzled with maple syrup
(It's pretty healthy considering what it is - the only fat in it is from the condensed milk)
Feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments. If you work in my office, then the prize is a bite at lunch. Winner announced Wednesday morning.
Bean, Corn & Pea Taco Salad

I cannot be credited for this, but whomever invented chips with dinner deserves a congregational medal of honour!
